We celebrated the new year with Josh and Joanna (pictured below during our cut-throat game of Jenga) at Marc and Christine's house (they were there, too). It was a nice, relaxed evening of game-playing and hanging out. We were quite disturbed when we turned on the tv at 11:45 to watch the national coverage and saw the trashy outfits of the dancers. Only 29 and already I'm saying, "I can't believe what kids these days are wearing."

On the knitting scene, I am still working on knitting up the yarn I already have. I knit up this bath rug, named Absorba, from Mason-Dixon knitting. It's meant to look like a log-cabin quilting pattern. We used it for the first time today and it was
very absorbent.
Added note: Maryse asked for yarn details: It was quite the hodge-podge...this was a stash-busting project, you know. I used 5 strands of worsted weight cotton--2 strands Peaches & Cream cream color, 1 strand P & C white, 1 strand Sugar & Cream white, and 1 strand white-ish recycled yarn from my cotton sweater.

I'm also working on knitting two socks at a time (to avoid second sock syndrome) using the FANTASTIC Lorna's Laces yarn that Dominique sent me. I like the two-at-a-time thing, but it's definitely slower going. (I don't know why I didn't think of that before, but I have my not-so-bright moments)
